Collaboration with Japanese contemporary circus.
“FLORMOTUS” 10 KINETIC SCULPTURES / 2017
Ten kinetic 2D sculptures were created for an installation in the bamboo forest of Kamoi Shimin no Mori, Yokohama, Japan, as part of the Green Festival and the contemporary circus performance program.
People seem more sensitive and empathetic toward beings that move and make sounds. I often wonder—if trees and plants could shift and speak, would we finally recognize the depth and importance of their lives?
This installation was part of the Urban Green Festival, created to raise awareness and support efforts to protect the bamboo forest from potential destruction.
